Stevie Jones is a producer and composer working in film, theatre and a load of collaborative musical projects based around Glasgow. Stevie leads his own large acoustic ensemble Sound of Yell and plays as part of El Hombre Trajeado and Alasdair Roberts & Friends. Recent projects include performing MIANN with The One Ensemble and Scottish Dance Theatre in Mexico DF, composing original score for Paul Fegan’s Where You’re Meant To Be and writing and performing a soundtrack for Germaine Dulac’s 1926 surrealist silent classic La Coquille et la Clergyman at Glasgow International’s Fantom Salon.
Aby Vulliamy is a musician and Music Therapist playing primarily viola, piano and vocals. Aby is establishing a diverse portfolio of work with local musicians and composers in West Yorkshire, including innovators Dave Kane and Matt Bourne of the Fusebox new music collective and folk artist Magpahi. Long-term collaborations in Scotland include with Stevie Jones/Sound of Yell, Bill Wells/The National Jazz Trio of Scotland, Hanna Tuulikki/Nalle, Daniel Padden/The One Ensemble. Aby’s recent compositions for ‘Motherese’, an ensemble of mothers, have explored the theme of parenthood for Counterflows in Glasgow and Jazz North East in Newcastle. Aby’s work as a Music Therapist feeds and informs her approach to improvisation and composition.
